Nich...so determined and daring
Nich has always been a determined kid and up to try anything...if even once. He is self-taught on the guitar and in his Junior year of high school this year, he needed an elective...so he came home from school and told me "Guess what?! I signed up for band.." I said, "Whattt??...you don't even play any instruments.." He said, "but all my friends are taking band, you know it's easy..we just hang out.."....Oh, forgive me. That explains it...friends, easy and hanging out. But don't you know...he chose the tuba..and...he's trying and learning! Yeah!!
A little country style...giddy-up...
A pretty horsey...a sweet cowboy (gotta love a cowboy).......me, in my very-vintage, very-worn cowgirl boots..(I love those boots)....and me again..at the door of a wine cellar...

Happy Birthday Mom...
Today is my Mom's birthday. She and I don't always see eye to eye (I guess who does and really, who needs to)...but she is a statue of steel for our family. She will give you the shirt off of her back. She loves and lives for her grandchildren. My mom has worked since the age of 13 and at the age she turns today....is still hard at work. Not just physically (still employed part-time!)..she is a pistol....but morally...intellectually...this woman has raised two children...on her own..and has instilled the strongest values in her family, that I, in turn have absorbed and instilled in my own children. Happy Birthday Mom! We love you.

Little somethings...
As you may have read, I loveee to bake. I love to create...and the above...create- is what I did. Don't quite know what I would call them..a truffle?? a ball of cake dipped in chocolate?? a cake pop...minus the stick??? Not quite sure.....I just know HOW I made them (oh..I can't forget the credits..hats off to my wonderful, dearest, amazing friend Deb.. who helped me roll and roll and roll and roll these little loves!)...devils food dipped in chocolate..so I guess that would make them "double chocolate somethings"...and I just know they were soo good...and I will be making more very soon...different types...carrot cake/cream cheese is next on my list...and I can't wait to see what I can come up with next...with the holidays fast approaching.....(I can't wait to decorate my house too!) *sigh*
One of my favorite peeps..
I had so much fun this day. I sure miss my friend...she moved from Florida back to New York recently and she wanted some pictures done as a remembrance of the (hot) state of Florida (and hot it was...we nearly melted this day-but crammed oodles of photos in our one hour lunch time!). She was my Starbucks buddy...we could carry on 4 conversations at once...while chatting on our lunch hour over coffee....all the while watching people illegally park downtown and the parking attendant write up parking tickets..while noticing how Starbucks needed to (always) clean their windows....all the while people watching and noticing what everyone downtown was wearing that day...etc..etc...great multi-taskers.......we are. :)
Boating and Begger the dolphin...
Are you ready for some football!!
Tampa Bucs vs Detroit Lions at Raymond James Stadium...Tampa....it was freeeezing that day in Florida...and of course I had to show my support...I was so cold and all I could find was a Santa hat (it was December though, however....) can you guess who I was cheering for? :)
The Osbornes...
The Osbornes...I met this incredibly interesting couple while I was attending a weekend event in Arcadia and I had sat down to listen to the band on stage. They sat behind me and I was immediately drawn to them....I was dying to take their picture...but of course, not without asking. Me being as chatty as I am, I purposely started a conversation with them and I was in awe of their life story. They are both college professors, from the states, but teach over seas, he physics and she math. She and I shared somewhat of the same roots, she attended college in Wisconsin...my home state. They shared stories of their students, the health care system and costs (a fraction of the price) overseas vs the states, where they attended college, talked about their daughter, we talked photography, they told me of their new and first home they recently purchased and their thoughts on society today in general. They had just bought their first home in the area, but before that, they had spent their entire life together, living locally while they were home in the states, on their boat. They had simply come out for the day to enjoy the festival. That was it....simple. They were simple people, but yet so intelligent...that shared an hour of their life with me and who are truly living their life dreams...I learned some very humbling life lessons in an hour and I was completely intrigued by them...and at the end of our talking....they were thrilled for me to take their picture. :)

Little Miss Foxy
Introducing Miss Foxy to the blogging world. Our 3 year old mini. She is a trooper. When all else fails and I cannot find a model in front of my lens, I know I can count on her. She poses. She dresses up. She wears pearls. She wears flowers. She sits on pretty chairs with pretty pillows. She listens. She understands. She is one smart girl. All for the love of "Natural Choice Crunchy Treats With Real Berries" (they smell divine-just like blueberry muffins). On the label: made with whole grains, wheat free, cleans teeth, freshens breath, great for training. Yes great for training..a girl named Foxy... that poses for pictures. I just love this girl.
