Jordyn, Jordyn and Ryan!
I put on my cowgirl boots and spent some time this weekend in the country! On the banks of the Caloosahatchee River...out in good ol' Alva. The property is absolutely beautiful...surrounded by Spanish Oak Trees, magnificent homes with their grazing horses, plenty of nature...... I was in love!! I got to enjoy a little of my niece Jordyn, her friend Jordyn and my nephew Ryan (also my Godson!) too....who's momma treated me to a good old fashioned-southern bbq! When the weather cools off, I will be heading back out and we will be lighting up the bon fire! For some southern history on the Caloosahatchee River.....go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caloosahatchee_River
Ft Myers Beach Family Reunion...
Ft Myers Beach Fun! My sweet friend Jen and family spent some time together at Pointe Estero Beach Resort. Jen, her sisters and mom had not all been together in 9 years! One of Jen's sisters trekked from Virginia...and the other all the way from Australia! To check out Ft. Myers Beach and Pointe Estero, go here:

Vintage bowls & Jamaica...
My three lovely, little vintage mixing bowls (I want to grow my collection!)....and my two favorite images from Jamaica. OK, what does one have to do with the other? Nothing. I just like these photos; my bowls and Jamaica. :) This past year, I was given the wonderful opportunity to visit Jamaica and even more special....some great memories. Prior to the trip and the whole time there, I kept thinking to myself, "I want to get a picture of kids walking on the street." Well I did just that. While I was on a shuttle bus, I "just happened" to see these two walking down the sidewalk. They "just happened" to look my way (same thing with this man on his boat!)...and they had no idea that I was even capturing this moment...the windows on the bus were tinted so dark, they could not see in. I would say someone granted my wish. :)

Family day out...Wiener Dog Races...a quick peek!
"Who let the dogs out?!"....This weekend we visited The Shell Factory for the annual Wiener Dog Races! It was as silly as it sounds...but there was so much love & cuteness in the air. People and their doggies come from all over and all kinds of breeds come out to watch and play, but the races are limited only to Dachshunds (sorry doggies). I saw this little guy trying to catch a frog...he caught it...it jumped and then he couldn't figure out where it went, until he saw it on his arm! Ha ha...too cute! The simplicity of life- a boy and a frog. The Shell Factory itself has been around for over 70 years and is a must see if you are ever in SW Florida! Rock the Universe...Orlando
An evening of fabulous fun!! Last weekend, I attended Rock the Universe in Orlando-an event I have been wanting to go to for years...and finally. I wanted to go so bad...that I was even going to go alone if needed. I could not believe the amount of people that came out for the night to watch, sing and worship with these incredibly talented artists. I will admit, while I did enjoy the entire night...Third Day rocked it for me. I absolutely am in love with their music...their lyrics..their energy. I knew every word to every song and I could not stand still. Mac Powell was on it....acknowledging and involving his fans. Their performance was at the smaller stage...which set the atmosphere and gave a very intimate and warm show. I also thought it was incredibly cool how they mentioned their kids & families had been down for the week living it up at the Disney parks..vacation and work all in one...very family orientated. I was especially moved when Red sang "Not Alone"...one my favorite songs...and got down on his knees to give glory and praise. I was over-the-top looking forward to dragging my best friend to Hard Rock, as she has never been....but was slightly disappointed that it was closed for a private party. However- our weekend was a blast! I will definitely be returning next year...if even alone! ;)

Weekend recap...personal...
Back from my weekend girls trip...and what a great time it was! I wanted to share a few peeks of our "fun-tastic" time...we did a lot of walking (basically all walking)...a lot of laughing ...squeezed in some shopping...had some good food...and the sole purpose...a concert at Universal Studios (concert pictures to follow a little later). Here we are in our concert digs before the show (with hand made fan shirts-we made them ourselves!)...and a few other shots..pretty much self-explanatory..and the bottom..House of Blues, Orlando. An awesome venue for concerts..I just love it. The weekend was a success! :)

TGIF...
Ah yes, Friday. How I love Fridays.
I do apologize. I have been missing in action for a few days. Just super-crazy busy. I will be missing for a few days more....as I will be leaving town and heading to Orlando for a weekend concert...and tossing in a little shopping along the way, good eating and possibly a few rides at Universal. I am however, hoping to get some terrific photos in O-town and once I return, share them-right here.
I am so excited for fall and the holidays..for the weather to cool down...holiday baking...pumpkins...wearing jeans & sweaters....decorating my house. I have a busy Sept/Oct with sessions lined up and have found myself some wonderful little props that I am hoping to mingle in. In the meantime, I will leave you with the image of how I spent most of my Labor Day-totally relaxed and taking in the sun...tossed in with a few, much needed naps. It was thee perfect day. Happy weekend!
